Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center August 2032

The noisy and ever-present water trucks were feeding their tubes through the corridors of the maternity ward
Bloated women in obvious delirium were ejecting the hatchling trout from their birth canals
On the tiled hospital floor was a six-inch deep pool of lake water to catch the newborn fish
The northern wall of the maternity ward drained into a tanker truck
Other trucks waited in line to load up and get on with the delivery
By noon on Wednesday the western U.S. river and lake system would become the communication hub
A connectivity to the Origon in Libya would be established
And the future would become a simple crease in the map
A doorway through which the laws of physics and thoughts
Would be fair play for jealous trout on the Internet
Looking to steal some sentience from the unprotected

Coumadin

I take Coumadin
I live a life of sin
I wish I had more stamina
I'm going to build a camera

I'm going to build a camera
That takes snapshots of my thoughts
The photographs will be black and white
Just like my thoughts
I'll place this camera in my pillow
To catalogue my dreams
I'll thread together the images
Then iron flat the seams

I also take fluoxetine
Without it I'd be dead or mean
I wish I had more stamina
I'm going to build a camera
